Blog Tour: Unsettled by SC Ellington

After a horrific breakup with her longtime boyfriend, Brooklyn Caldwell is completely disenchanted with the notion of mingling with the opposite sex. Damon Williams had been everything she thought she wanted…until he wasn’t.
In an attempt to escape her heartbreaking past, Brooklyn seeks refuge in bustling Washington, D.C. where she folds into the fast-paced society unnoticed…until she meets a young entrepreneur, Logan Colton.
Brooklyn is surprised to find that while she has been successful in keeping the opposite sex at bay, somehow she is defenseless against Logan’s confidence and charm—and it doesn’t hurt that he is absurdly beautiful.
As much as Logan didn’t plan on pursuing her, he is drawn to Brooklyn’s muted beauty and her witty persona. For all his success, Logan is ensnared in the coveted world of unequivocal wealth and power, but behind closed doors is taunted by his own demons and an undeniable need to atone for a monumental mistake.
As the two embark on a tumultuous obstacle course saturated with unknown twists and turns, Brooklyn is left to question whether she can endure the journey ahead.

Unsettled by SC Ellington is a book about a girl who closed off her heart after it was shattered by the man that she thought she would eventually marry.  Brooklyn decides to move across the country with her best friend Alex and Alex's boyfriend Jay for a fresh start, but how fresh is it?  She is still living in the past with the hurt that Damon caused, working a job that she hated, not really living her life, that is until a chance meeting outside of her office with Logan Colton, a hot & sexy, caring and down to earth millionaire businessman starts to bring her out of the self created box she has been residing in.
Brooklyn is skeptical about dating Logan, she feels that he is out of her league, he can have any woman he wants, being as successful and goodlooking as he is, and she can't seem to wrap her head around the idea that he wants her.  But Logan is everything that Brooklyn could want, and she feels more alive than she has since she moved to Washington DC.  The little things that he does to bring a smile to her face are endearing, going out of his way to ensure that she is happy and comfortable.  Although he keeps what seem to be his own demons close to his chest, he cares for her because she is real and isn't looking at him like her next meal ticket, that she was with him because she cared about him.

"From the short ime I've been around you I've figured out that you're not an arrogant, gold-digging opportunist who only looks at me as another rung in a ladder to her quest to premier wealth-and that's what makes you stand out."

Even with the return of Damon, who it turns out is Jay's cousin, Brooklyn doesn't close off into herself behind the walls she has errected to protect herself, instead she finds herself missing Logan and maybe even falling in love with him.  Brooklyn wants to know more about Logan and she asks the questions but it seems that he refuses to give her the answers at first, until he finally opens up.  Both having issues trusting people, they slowly begin to trust each other with their lives and their feelings, that is until one night when Brooklyn, Alex and Jay attend a charity event with Logan.  While in the bathroom, Brooklyn hears two woman talking about Logan and a woman who he had been pictured with a couple of times on the internet.  Although Logan swore that there was nothing between them, Brooklyn's fears overcome her judgement and she flees the event.  What happens next is one hell of a cliff hanger and has me yearning for the next book in this series because I absolutely need to know what is going to happen.
This book was a 4 star read for me and I highly recommend it to everyone to read!  Even if you aren't a fan of cliff hangers, you need to give this book a chance because I will guarantee you won't be disappointed!
