“She’s just being nice,” Kayden says gazing down at me. His hair is ruffled and his jawline is scruffy and he looks so happy. “And it’s nice… that she wants to be so nice... it could be worse than an overnice mother.” “Yeah, I know.” I sigh, knowing he’s right, that it could be worse, that I could have a mother like his mother. “I just wish she’d be just a little bit less embarrassing.” I raise my hand and make a pinching gesture with my fingers. “Maybe just a teeny tiny bit.” “Yeah, I doubt that’s ever going to happen.” Kayden slips his shirt off and chucks it aside. His jeans ride low on his hips, giving me a view of his abs and chest that is crisscrossed with scars. “I did find it funny when she kept cracking jokes all through dinner about how she thinks we’re going to end up getting married.” He kneels down on the mattress, nudging my knees open with his knees until I spread open my legs for him. “Oh God.” Shaking my head, I cover my face with my hands. “I’m glad you find it funny because I’m sure most guys would be running for their lives.” The mattresses moves as he leans over me and puts a hand on each side of my head. I crack my fingers apart and look at him. He’s been so much happier since he put the past behind him. He seems to breathe freer, smile more, and it’s probably the most beautiful sight I’ve ever seen. “Well, just make sure you really want this,” I say as he moves one of my hands away from my eyes. “Because you still have time to run.” He shakes his head, his tongue slipping out of his mouth to wet his lips. “No running here,” he whispers in a raspy voice that I know only means one thing—he wants me. “Ever.” He moves my other hand away from my face then pins my arms above my head. A while ago, the movement would have sent my heart soaring and not in a good way. But now… well, it freaking soars like a bird high up in the sky never wanting to return to land ever. It soars because it’s free. It soars for him. “You want me,” I tease as he leans down to kiss me. “You’re right,” he says. “And then I want to give you your present.” “But you already gave me my present.” I pat my pocket where the tickets to the concert are that he gave me. He said it was for a redo of a night that should have been special, but he couldn’t give it to me then, but he was ready now to give me everything I deserve—his words not mine. My mom practically fainted when he said it. And me, well I think I fell in love with Kayden even more. “Yeah, but that one was only the first part.” He kisses me, then softly bites my bottom lip before he leans back for air. “There’s more,” he breathes against my lips, coming in for another kiss. “But you have to wait.” “Until when?” I wonder, my heart skipping a beat as his hands wander for the button of my jeans. “Until we’re done with this.” He gives me a wicked smile as he flicks my button undone.

"In the existence of our lives, there are many coincidencesthat bring people together, but there's only one person that will own your heart forever"

The Resolution of Callie and Kayden was the final book in The Coincidence Series.  It was the conclusion of my favorite characters Callie and Kayden's love story.  I would give this story a 3.5 stars, not because it wasn't a great story but because I feel like it was drug out a little and felt it could have ended sooner.  But in all we finally have our conclusion with these two and thankful they find there HEA.  It you have followed this series you know the trials and tribulations these 2 went through and this book will give you more of the trials but finally and ending that was maybe a little vague but a good ending.

Callie is still struggling with the rape she endure many years ago, but she is trying to move forward by focusing on school and trying to write a paper.  She is also trying to be there for Kayden because his past demons have never given him a resolution because his father is still missing.  They both will learn that they will become more dependent on eachother and learn what the meaning of a true family is.  When there pasts start to fade away will they finally find the resolution they are looking for?  Or will Kayden pull away and run when times get tough like he always has? Or will he finally learn to trust completely and let Callie lead him away from the dark and into the light?

She's the best thing that's ever happened to me---my ray of sunshine through the rain, that clouds, the storm that hovers over my head.  She can make me smile when I'm down, laugh when I'm unhappy.  She's the one person who has ever loved me and who I completely and wholly love back in a way I can barely understand sometimes because I honestly thought I could never love anyone like the way I love her.-- KAYDEN

I don't need to give Caleb that kind of power over me anymore.  And besides, I might not be here with you if my life went another path, so I can look at the bad as something I had to go through to get to the good.  You are my good, no matter what you want to believe.  I'm sitting here, happier than I've ever been, because of you.  You are my happiness."-- CALLIE

Go get this whole series and enjoy Callie and Kayden as much as I did.

The Resolution of Callie and Kayden by Jessica Sorensen has the reader returning to the tragedy that each of the characters lived through in the first books of the series while watching them gain the strength and courage to move on from the demons that were holding them back, preventing them from truly moving on in their lives.  This book is raw, emotional and inspiring all at the same.  Jessica Sorensen has a way of making the reader feel like they are right there next to the characters; fighting their battles with them.  I give this book 3.5 stars and recommend this series to others.

"I want to be free from it-from him.  Free from mom. My past. The years of abuse. What I really want is my resolution.  But to get it, I'd need to let go of everything and I can't let go when my future is so unknown."

Kayden still struggles everyday with his past, specifically his relationships with his parents.  Not having spoken to either of them since that fateful night when his father stabbed him and left him for dead in his kitchen; Kayden has no idea where they are, or if they are even alive.  Yet he still hears the hateful words and remembers the abusive things that were done to him by the hands of the people that should have loved him unconditionally.  Knowing that he needs to let go in order to be able to truly move on with his life, to finally completely let go of his urge to cut when life gets tough, to move forward in his relationship with Callie and to embrace the family he has with his brother Dylan, Kayden tries to wrap his head around those things but struggles daily with acting on them.

Callie is further along in her journey then Kayden is and she does everything in her power to try and help him in any way she can to get where she knows he wants to be.  Stronger than she was in the past, she no longer lets what Caleb did to her define who she is, instead she uses it as a strength to be the independent woman that was buried deep down for so long.  She becomes a rock, the strength that Kayden needs to keep the demons at bay and she begins to do things that she has always wanted to but never had the chance; like dress up and ask her boyfriend to a concert.  It is through the happiness that she exhibits on a daily basis, in the simple things like having a snowball fight with Kayden outside the dorm, that gives her the strength to ask him to move in with her.  It is with his love that she is able to conquer it all.

"We move rhythmically, completely in sync with each other, like we were made for each other, which in my opinion, we are.  There's no one else in the world that will make me feel the way Kayden does.  I will never trust anyone more.  Never want to be with anyone as much.  He's it for me, and I only hope that it's the same way for him.  That he wants to move in with me like he's said.  Be with me.  Maybe forever."

As Kayden works through his internal issues regarding his parents, he begins to repair the relationship with his brother Dylan, finally realizing what it means to be part of a family.  Something that he doesn't completely understand but yearns for on so many levels.  Dylan and his wife Liz do everything that they can to give Kayden that type of family he has always wanted and deserved.  Dylan shows Kayden that he will stand by him no matter what, even if it means walking out of their own fathers' funeral and that seems to be the first step in the right direction for Kayden to begin healing.

I was pleased with the ending but I did expect a little bit more after all of the ups and down of this series.  I was glad that Callie and Kayden got their happily every after but it wasn't perfectly gift wrapped, it was realistic.

"I am simply Callie.  And he is simply Kayden.  And we are simply us. And it's that realest form of perfection that's ever existed."
