Silent Whisper (Limbo Series #1)

Andrea Smith

Paranormal Suspense

For twenty-seven years I’ve flitted through life clueless to abilities I’ve had dormant inside of me. In the blink of an eye everything changed. She changed it. Now I know that nothing is as it seems and I will never be the same…but this isn’t my story. It’s hers. I’m just being forced to live it, resolve it, and ultimately try to move on after learning that our lives are tangled far more than I would’ve ever imagined. My name is Parrish Locke and I can see the dead.

Silent Whisper is the first book in the Limbo Series.  Although I am not a huge fan of paranormal, I am a huge fan of Andrea Smith so I took a chance with this book and I was pleasantly surprised and would give this book a 4 stars.  This was a romance but not like any other romance I have ever read.  Andrea has always been known to me as writing some pretty hot and steamy reads and this one didn't disappointment in that department.  It is not a vampire, werewolf paranormal, it is basically about a girl who is touched per say and can help people in the after life that are stuck in between, who have unfinished business.

Parrish is a model and leads a pretty normal life.  While on the way out of town Parrish is in an accident... and it will change her life forever.  She finds herself face to face with a stranger Karlie.. not just a stranger but a ghost.  She finds herself being transformed into this stranger and living her life from the past till the time she dies.  This is the first time it happens to her and she doesn't know what to think but what she finds will ultimately change her views on her normal life and she will find secrets that she never knew existed.

Karlie was a mistress to a man name Nick.  Nick's family is a big mob family and they have shady secrets.  Karlie is determined to just stay the mistress but Nick is so hard to resist and finds herself falling in love with him.  When Nick returns the love she thinks her world is finally perfect.  She knows she will always be the mistress and she is ok with that for now.

The butterflies in my tummy, that had always been there, now seemed to be in a constant swarm whenever he looked at me, touched me, or God forbid--kissed me.  And God, when he fucked me it was as if I simply melted into him and we became one.  In fact, I would've been quite content if his dick never left my insides, I'd decided.  We fit each other perfectly.-- KARLIE

Nick has fallen for his mistress, he never meant for that to happen but she could give him the life he has always wanted but in secret.  His marriage is a farce and everyone knows it, but to save face and go along with his religious ways he can never get divorced.  He can still see a future with Karlie and he wants a family with her too, but will she be willing to have that with him without the commitment.  But when secrets come out and Karlie goes into hiding the only thing he can hope is that she is safe.... But will he ever see her again.. and will he ever find out Karlie has a secret as well?

And as long as she stayed wherever she was, she would have a future, even if it wasn't going to be with me. I would never have wanted to deny her that.  She was the love of my life.  No one would or could ever replace her in my heart.  I knew this to be the truth.  For now, I continued to hope and pray that time was on her side and on mine.-- NICK

When tragedy strikes and secrets are revealed, of course there is death.. but in the end can the Silent Whisper of a woman scorned and lost in the inbetween finally get her goodbye?  And can the man that lost everything he has ever wanted truly find happiness?

Pick up this book and yes there are more to this series... even though I don't normally read paranormal I will be reading all the books that Andrea brings out in this series.  Thanks again for a wonderful story... and don't worry everyone my review is vague but you will understand why I can't reveal to much because it would ruin the story.

I was still distracted as I walked up the concrete sidewalk to my back door, fumbling inside my handbag for my keys. I hadn't noticed that someone had circled around to the back of the condo, and was a mere six feet away before addressing me.

"Karlie Masterson?" the female voice said, causing me to practically jump out of my skin. "I think you might want to listen to what I have to say."

I turned abruptly, clutching my handbag by the straps as if it were a weapon or could be used as one if necessary.

"I'm sorry," the woman said, "I didn't mean to frighten you."

"Who are you?"

"I'm Anna Maria Castellano, Nick's wife. Can we talk?"
