Blog Tour & Review: A Week in New York by Louise Bay

Anna Kirby is sick of dating. She's tired of heartbreak. Despite being smart, sexy, and funny, she's a magnet for men who don't deserve her.
A week's vacation in New York is the ultimate distraction from her most recent break-up, as well as a great place to meet a stranger and have some summer fun. But to protect her still-bruised heart, fun comes with rules. There will be no sharing stories, no swapping numbers, and no real names. Just one night of uncomplicated fun.
Super-successful serial seducer Ethan Scott has some rules of his own. He doesn't date, he doesn't stay the night, and he doesn't make any promises.
It should be a match made in heaven. But rules are made to be broken.
A Week in New York is the first in a series of three novellas.

When Louise Bay announced her serial novella series I jumped all over it as serial novellas are starting to become my new addiction!  I love a short story that packs lots of punch but doesn’t take me hours and hours invested in reading.  Ms Bay got on my radar when she released Hopeful, another reason I was excited to read this.  I haven’t read Hopeful yet but it has definitely been added to my wish list of things to read.  The Empire State Trilogy is a series of novella’s released every month with A Week in New York being the first.  I personally thought overall it was just ok.  Anna and Ethan story hits hard and fast and I don’t know it it’s something I connected with.  I enjoyed their story, I thought it was ok.  I liked, not loved.  But with that I do think readers will enjoy the hotness factor because there is plenty of smoking hot sex!

After going through another failed relationship, Anna decides to join her friend and jump the pond from England to New York to enjoy a week’s vacation.  While enjoying a night out on the town, she meets Ethan and from there they have a no string attached, one night stand.

“I wasn’t here for romance or to get to know him.  I was here for fun.  Distraction without complications.”

What neither expected was that even though they both had set rules, they broke them from the beginning.  They had an instant pull and attraction to each other and they pushed past the rules and ignored them.  Night after night, they found themselves with each other… until it was time for Anna to go back to England.

“This is going to be harder than it should be for me, and I need to make sure there’s no ambiguity left behind.  No promises to break, no room for disappointment.”

Will Anna be able to go back to England and forget about Ethan?  The chemistry they shared is off the charts and it looks like neither will be forgetting the other any time soon.  I am curious to see how the rest of the story plays out in the other novellas.

A Week in New York is a part one of a new novella trilogy. These are becoming a
favorite of mine and seem to be the new thing these days. I like them because it
gives me time to whiz through it, get a quick story and then move onto the next
one or a different book while I wait for the next one to be released.

Anna Kirby is a woman that seems to always pick the wrong kind of man. The latest man
made a unfortunate decision that ended their relationship. To get a way she
travels to NYC from London with her best friend, Leah and her boyfriend, Daniel.
She has vowed to give up on relationships, she just wants to be free and have
fun with a few rules.

"Look, I'm sick of being lied to. If I don't expect anything from you I can't
possibly be disappointed." -
Anna

"I don't want to know anything about you. And I won't tell you my real name." -
Anna

"If you don't like it, feel free to leave me alone." - Anna

Ethan Scott is a man with rules. No morning sex, no sleepovers, no dates, no
complications, no women allowed back to his place......until he meets Anna. He
has a humorous side to him that I love! He is tall, dark and handsome with a set
of blue eyes you could get lost in.

"Where do I start with you? You're so beautiful. Like a perfectly wrapped
present that gets more exciting as the layers come off."
-Ethan

"I'm your God tonight, beautiful. Now come for me." - Ethan

With 3000 miles between them they decide to make the best of this week! "No
promises, no ambiguity, no bullshit."

Now that her week has come to an end.....what will happen next?

A Week in New York was a 3.5 star read for me.

I write sexy, romantic, contemporary novels - the kind I like to read!

Ruined by romantic mini-series of the seventies and eighties, I love all things romantic. There's not enough of it in real life so I'll settle for books and films.

I love the rain, the West Wing, London, days when you don't have to wear make-up, being alone, being with friends, elephants and champagne.
