Taylor Morris had been in love Walker Moore since she could remember. With Walker heading off to Texas A&M and Taylor making her way to Baylor, Taylor makes a promise to wait for Walker. But some promises have to be broken when finding out who you truly are…and who you truly love.

Liza turned around and the smile on her face about dropped me to my knees. Her long light

brown hair was pulled up into a bun and she had a bandana wrapped around her head. My eyes

traveled up and down her body as I took in the jean shorts, cowboy boots, and light pink T-shirt.

Her smile faded briefly when she looked at me before she gave me a weak smile.

I smiled as I walked up to Liza. I hadn’t felt this happy in a long time. I glanced at something

hanging around her neck. When I noticed it was the ring I had given her I immediately looked

down to her left hand. That’s when I saw the engagement ring. I stopped dead in my tracks. Liza

let out a nervous chuckle and walked up to me and gave me a quick hug. “Hey you. It’s been

what, a year?”

I couldn’t pull my eyes from the ring. Liza was engaged? I slowly looked up into her eyes and

that’s when she looked down to her hand. She quickly put her hand in her pocket and smiled.

“Um…how have you been, Walker?”

“You’re engaged?”

Broken Promises by Kelly Elliot is the third book in the Broken Series. This book focuses on the story of Layton and Reed's children Liza and Walker, who had loved each other in some form or another since the day that they were born.  This book was a 3.5 star read for me and I would recommend this series to anyone who enjoys a good romance that takes place in the heart of horse country.

Liza loved Walker for as long as she could remember and when he finally expressed that he felt the same way she was over the moon.  Each going off to separate colleges, they promised to wait for each other, believing that the love that they had was strong enough to survive.  Unfortunately before they ever became intimate, Walker put the breaks on their relationship and they remained friends, but not the same type of friends they once were.  Each dating someone else pretty seriously, Liza having received a proposal she had yet to accept from her boyfriend and Walker making plans for his girlfriend to move to Llano to be with him while he worked on their parents farm, they grew apart not really knowing each other in the same way they had before.

Once Liza saw Walker again after almost a year, every feeling of love she had for him came rushing back and she had tremendous guilt about it as she was wearing Keith's engagement ring, at his request, even though she hadn't given him an answer to his proposal yet.  Walker had feelings for Liza that he was unable to deny and he began to feel guilty because his girlfriend Jessica was supposed to be moving in with him once she returned from her European vacation with her mother.

With the interference from both of their parents, Walker and Liza were pushed together in very close quarters on more then one occasion, each wishing that the other was not in a relationship.  Not wanting to cause the other unnecessary heartache, they each kept their feelings to themselves until it became too much to bear.  After each breaking up with their significant other, they began the relationship that they had always wanted, one filled with tremendous and unconditional love, support and adoration.  But how long would that last?  When Liza starts getting threatening messages from who she believes is Keith, they both become worried for Liza's safety.  Is Keith the one who is stalking Liza? And why is he doing it?  You will have to read to find out!

Broken Promises was the third book Broken Series and I would rate it a 4 star.  I have read many books by Kelly Elliott and this book was another great romance!  I loved the chemistry between Liza and Walker they will heat up your kindles.  I had no doubt I would love this book because everything she writes always captures my heart in one way or another.  Even though this is apart of a series it can be read as a standalone.  I would most definitely recommend this book to others.  I actually don't think there is a book by Kelly that I wouldn't recommend she is just that good!

Liza and Walker have known each other since they were born.  They always had an intense chemistry between them but for one reason or another it never worked out for them.  One day when they are leaving for college they make a promise to each other to be together in the future and wait for one another.  But when both make a decision that maybe they should date others while they are away they both fall in love with someone else.  When college is over and they head back home for one last summer they will realize that maybe there is still something between them... but can they let go of the other people in their lives to finally try and have a future?  And if they do try for a future together will there pasts have a way of creeping up and destroying what they could have?

Broken promises will be made and consequences will be had... but in the end can they mend those broken pieces and finally have and HEA?

Get your one hot clicking finger ready because y'all know you going to buy this book its Kelly Freaking Elliott you would be crazy not too... she never disappoints and the woman can write about seriously hot cowboys!  Thanks for another great book Kelly!

This book is a southern love story. If you like books with southern charm and

romance you will like this. Kelly Elliot wrote a beautiful story about promises

made, promises broken and promises mended. This book will have you rooting for

Liza and Walker as they navigate life’s twists and turns. The heart only knows

what it wants and needs. Sometimes it’s the head that has trouble catching up!

Liza recently graduated from college. She is home for the summer on her families

ranch. She has a big decision to make that will affect her whole future. She gets

reacquainted with her best friend. The one person she cares most for, Walker.

Walker is in a committed relationship as well. Liza and Walker grew up making

beautiful memories together. College put a wedge between them. Only time will

tell if they can find their way back or continue on different paths.

“I watched as the only man I’d ever truly loved walked away, leaving me alone

and broken.” Liza

I really liked the strong roots both characters had to their family and  ranch life.

They are close with their families and appreciate their bond and love. It was heart

warming to feel the closeness and unity. They definitely leaned on their family for

input and advice during their confusing time.

“His blue eyes and messy brown hair had me since I could remember.” Liza

This book had a touch of angst. I love my angst! I rooted for this couple. Walker is

such a catch. He is tall, lean, muscular and has that certain southern something.

He knows his way around a barn a ranch and that is HOT! The chemistry between

these two was amazing and genuine.  They have a deep rooted LOVE and it was

felt within the pages…

I give Broken Promises 3.75 STARS! It was a romantic love story that was full of

love, passion and hurdles. I enjoyed its southern sweetness……

Kelly Elliott is married to a wonderful Texas cowboy who has a knack for making her laugh almost daily and supports her crazy ideas and dreams for some unknown reason...he claims it's because he loves her!  She’s also a mom to an amazing daughter who constantly asking for something to eat while her fingers  move like mad on her cell phone sending out what is sure to be another very important text message.  In her spare time she loves to sit in her small corner overlooking the Texas hill country and write.   One of her favorite things to do is go for hikes around her property with Gus....her chocolate lab and the other man in her life, and Rose, her golden retriever. When Kelly is not outside helping the hubby haul  brush, move rocks or whatever fun chore he has in store for her  that day, you’ll find her inside reading, writing or watching HGTV.
